Translations normally render this verse as “ Then, no ! They will come to know .” The word Thumma can be used to indicate a sequence in time, but it can also be used to indicate the higher status of something with respect to something else. Allah is saying that there will be another event, greater than the one described earlier, that will prove to them the truth of it.
We will go with the flow of the surah and let it speak for itself rather than presuming what these two great events are.
